After several days of not eating well, we arrived in Innsbruck, Austria and found the vegan My Indigo restaurant. We didn’t have our hopes up, knowing that as a top producer of milk and dairy, Austria isn’t exactly known for plant based eating. However, after doing further research we saw that My Indigo had great reviews so decided to give them a try.

What impressed me first about My Indigo was all the beautiful colors and hipster vibe! Every inch of this place had an inviting aura full of energy, vibrant color, and joy of life! Inspired by influences from around the world, they serve a wide range of creative foods such as: sushi, fresh salads, spicy curries, soups, couscous, rice, organic brownies, cookies, fair trade coffee, organic juices and homemade lemonade.

Like a kid in a candy shop, I stared in wonder at all the fine food options, struggling to make a decision. The guy taking our order was friendly and patient, helping me settle on the vegan curry and also helping my hubby customize his salad with couscous and other yummy hand-picked toppings.
The next difficult decision was deciding where to sit. Every nook looked so inviting but we finally chose a refurbished wood table with bright eclectic pillows and a great view of the street. I’ll be honest with you, usually I’m leery of vegan food as it can tend to be bland. As I went to take my first bite I almost cringed hoping it wouldn’t be a giant letdown after the positive experience so far. However, the food did not disappoint! Savory, fresh and exploding with layers of flavor, it was fantastic down to the last bite! If your travels take you to Germany or Austria and you’re looking for fresh healthy eating options, My Indigo is a must go. You won’t regret it!
